ENROLLMENT

Student participate during class

In considering a student for enrollment, the school request that all previous evaluations: psychological, educational and medical, be made available to the school.

The school accepts psycho-educational evaluations done by a qualified psychologist that are no more than three years old prior to admission.

Once a psycho-educational report has been seen by the Director, an appointment is setup for the parents to visit the school and classrooms and meet with the Director.

The final step is a personal interview with the student.

The psycho-educational evaluation and the student interview is vital not only to determine eligibility but to assist in the development of the individual's learning program (ILP).

There is no formula to determine how long a student stays at Vanguard.

Just as the learning difficulties vary for each student, so does the educational progress. Factors that contribute to the length of a student' stay include chronological age, intellectual capabilities, individual strengths and weaknesses and the support in the student's home.

When the student does leave Vanguard, the school provides a follow-up survey to monitor the student's adjustment to the next school environment. Tuition and fees at Vanguard, including uniforms and transportation, are tax deductible.

Donations, grants and bequests are also tax deductible.
